The Sixers could select the high-upside forward out of Rutgers with the third-overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft

The Philadelphia 76ers will have the No. 3 pick in the draft after a disastrous 24-58 season in which nothing went right for them. The Sixers were banking on a star trio of Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey to lead the way for them, but that trio only played 18 games together--finishing 15 of them as injuries took their toll.

Instead, the Sixers exited the lottery with the No. 3 overall pick, choosing only behind the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs. It’s the ultimate consolation prize for a nightmare season, and a real opportunity to improve the team’s talent base going forward.
