One of the lone bright spots in an otherwise terrible 2024 season for the San Francisco 49ers has turned grim the day after Christmas. Ahead of Thursday's practice, Head coach Kyle Shanahan announced the team is shutting down linebacker Dre Greenlaw for the final two weeks of the regular season.

The main saving grace of the end to what was essentially a lost season for Dre Greenlaw is that it will allow the San Francisco 49ers to evaluate younger players at the linebacker position over the final two games of the campaign.

San Francisco linebacker Dre Greenlaw has officially been ruled out of Sunday’s contest at the Miami Dolphins.
