The Israeli military has intercepted a Gaza-bound aid ship seeking to break the Israeli blockade of the Palestinian territory, detaining 21 international activists and journalists and seizing all cargo,

The Israeli military released video footage on Sunday of what it claimed were airdrops of humanitarian aid in coordination with international organizations.

International criticism, including by close allies, has grown as several hundred Palestinians have been killed in recent weeks while trying to reach aid.

“At the same time, it doesn’t allow us to distribute aid in the most effective way, as you don’t know who will get it,” Nebal Farsakh from the IFRC says.

Mustafa, his wallet full and belly empty, has left his house to hunt for food in the ruins of Gaza City.

International calls are growing for Israel to end the limits on aid distribution, which some experts allege is a violation of international humanitarian law.
