A few showers are possible mainly over the interior later this afternoon providing limited relief to the heat and humidity. The heat advisory will expire at 7 p.m. as temperatures cool slightly bringing heat index values down below 105 degrees.

The sweltering summer weather persists across South Florida, as forecasters have issued a heat advisory for Saturday in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Temperatures are expected to feel as hot as 109 degrees.

A heat advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday for Miami-Dade and Broward counties, the National Weather Service announced.
