Bleacher Report’s James Palmer says it is partially due to Myles Garrett’s new $40 million per year inflating the market, while Watt does not want to sign a deal too early before other top edge rushers could ink their new deals.

For a mailbag published on Thursday, Steelers insider Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette poured some cold water over those optimistic updates. While answering a question from a reader, Dulac said that the Steelers and Watt won't come to an agreement "before training camp" gets underway.

The Steelers still haven't signed T.J. Watt to an extension but one insider expects a good will gesture from the team when a deal is reached.
