Thursday brought snow to parts of North Texas and the Panhandle. Here are the totals, and when Texans can expect road conditions to improve.

Most of Texas, from the panhandle to the south-central part of the state and beyond, was under a Winter Weather Advisory this week for possible snow.

Snow is no longer falling over most of North Texas after the first winter storm of the season. The National Weather Service dropped a winter storm warning early Friday morning, and let a winter weather advisory expire at 12 p.

Large portions of Texas were under winter storm warnings or winter weather advisories issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) early Friday.

While navigating the snow has been treacherous for some, the snow has been a joy for others. People, pets and students all took advantage of the rare snowfall in North Texas.

Snow and ice and snow are accumulating on bridges and overpasses of major highways, according to TxDOT. Motorists should drive with caution and expect traffic delays.
