Officials in West Virginia have confirmed that the death toll has increased to six, with three people currently missing. Wheeling police have confirmed that another death has occurred due to the flash flooding over the weekend.

Five people were killed and three are still missing after flash flooding hit a region of West Virginia over the weekend.

Wheeling Fire Department Public Informational Officer Philip Stahl said on the MetroNews Morning News Monday the effort to find those still missing would focus on Big Wheeling Creek within the city on Monday. He said the two dozen vehicles washed away in the floodwaters will be checked.
