The 71st-annual fire academy kicked off Friday, April 4, with classes at the Cambria Heights High School in Clearfield Township and the association’s fire training academy in East Carroll Township.

The Santa Rosa Fire Department plans to conduct training fires on 69 acres in southeast Santa Rosa, west of the Oakmont area, on Monday and Wednesday. Burning is expected to take place between 9 a.m.
