New Orleans Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi said Tuesday he is hopeful that veteran quarterback Derek Carr can return to action against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday at the Superdome.

Saints interim coach Darren Rizzi already announced that second-year backup Jake Haener would make his first NFL start Sunday at Caesars Superdome. But Carr, who sustained a concussion and left hand injury last Sunday against the New York Giants, was not ruled out as a backup for the game until Saturday.
