Ford is recalling nearly 274,000 of its Expedition and Lincoln-branded Navigator SUVs across the U.S. due to an issue that may cause a loss of brake function while driving, increasing crash risks.

Ford Motor Company has issued a safety recall for more than 270,000 vehicles in the US linked to defects with the brakes that could increase the risk of a crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Wednesday.

Models of Expeditions and Navigators from 2022 and 2024 are included in the recall due to a potential brake malfunction that's likely to cause an increase in crashes
