Tens of thousands of local residents are expected to take to the streets Saturday for No Kings Day, a nationwide protest of President Trump.

7,000 – 7,5000 protestors filled the streets of downtown Knoxville near world’s fair park this afternoon for the nationwide ‘no kings’ demonstration, amongst others taking place across East Tennessee.

The parade also coincides with Trump's 79th birthday and Flag Day, and comes amid the Los Angeles protests against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“No issues or arrests, everyone is being peaceful, and no enforcement action has been taken, but we are prepared if any crime occurs,” Officer Anthony Carrasco said.
