Nintendo has set the date for its second US store to set up shop. Following the announcement last year, Nintendo's brick and mortar location in San Francisco will open its doors on May 15. The opening is happening almost exactly two decades after Nintendo launched its first US store,

Nintendo plans to open its second US store in San Francisco's Union Square on May 15, offering exclusive products and experiences. Local retail experts view this as positive for the area's economy.

The Kyoto-headquartered company currently has four other stores, three of which are in Japan (Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo), with one other U.S. flagship store in New York City’s Rockefeller Square, which has been open since 2005. It also has merchandise for sale at Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando.
