Noah Dobson is out week to week for the Islanders because of a lower-body injury that will not require surgery. The defenseman was injured on a hit by Columbus Blue Jackets forward Cole Sillinger at 1:14 of the third period during a 3-1 win Monday. Dobson left under his own power but did not return.
EAST MEADOW, NY -- New York Islanders defenseman Noah Dobson was not on the ice on Tuesday morning for practice. The 25-year-old got hurt early in the first period after a collision with Cole Sillinger: During practice, Patrick Roy had Alexander Romanov with Scott Mayfield as a pairing, with Dennis Cholowski and Isaiah George as a pairing.
Noah Dobson and Ryan Pulock also scored, Marcus Hogberg made 18 saves and the Islanders snapped a two-game skid.
The Islanders made a big signing on Friday, picking up defenseman Tony DeAngelo, who was in the KHL after going unsigned this summer.
Hudson Fasching (IR, upper body) is making progress toward returning, as he joined the New York Islanders for practice on Thursday for a third straight session and first in a regular jersey.

The New York Islanders (18-20-7) snapped their two-game skid with a 4-1 win over the lowly San Jose Sharks (14-28-6) on Saturday night. The Islanders fueled their win with a strong second period, scoring three goals.
Georgiev and the Sharks were playing an Islanders team that had lost five of its last eight games and entered eight points out of a playoff spot on Saturday. The Isles also ranked last in the NHL on both the penalty kill and the power play at 11.9% and penalty kill at 67.0%
The Flyers points streak came to an end on Thursday night against the Rangers. The good news is that they immediately get a chance to erase that result on Friday night. The Flyers face the New York Islanders for the second time in eight days, as the two meet once again on Long Island. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
