ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Brianne Jenner scored her first PWHL goal less than four minutes into the game, Gwyneth Philips made 22 saves for her first career shutout and the Ottawa Charge beat the Minnesota Frost 1-0 on Tuesday night to end a three-game losing streak.

The Ottawa Charge got things going early in the game and were able to keep the Frost off the board the entire time to clinch the win.
On Tuesday night, the Frost players walked into their locker room wearing jerseys – but not with their own names on the back. They each bore either “Rooney” or “Hensley,” the Frost’s two starting goalies.
Ottawa’s netminder against Minnesota on Jan. 21 made history in a 1-0 shutout. Gwyneth Philips earned not only her first career Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) win, but also did not let any pucks by her on goalie appreciation night.
Frost coach Ken Klee called a timeout with just over a minute to play in the third period following an icing call against the Charge. Klee pulled his goaltender, but the Frost were unable to get another shot on goal.

With the 2025 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Hockey Championship recently concluded in Ottawa, the planet’s best men’s 20-and-under puck-shooters and puck-stoppers will be coming to Minnesota in roughly 11 months, and those who know the event commonly known as “World Juniors” say the State of Hockey is in for a crazy few weeks.
The Utah Hockey Club (19-19-7) recorded a crucial 4-2 win against the St. Louis Blues at Delta Center on Saturday to remain in the thick of the Western Conference wild card race, but the week ahead provides no relief.
This weekend’s game at the Videotron Centre is the first of two Takeover Tour games for the Charge, who also play the Toronto Sceptres on Feb. 16 at Rogers Place in Edmonton. Both venues, with capacity of 18,000 and 19,000, are either sold-out or close to it.
The Minnesota Wild have recalled goaltender Dylan Ferguson from the Iowa Wild, the team announced Saturday.
Along with the importance of the Takeover Tour event and the celebration of bringing the game to fans in a neutral site, three points are on the line for both squads looking to maintain their hold on their positions in the standings.
