Chabot scored a goal on a team-high five shots on net in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the jets, adding a a hit and a blocked shot. The 28-year-old blueliner spoiled Connor Hellebuyck's shutout bid by snapping home a shot from the faceoff dot to the right of the netminder midway through the second period.
Chabot (illness) will be available for Saturday's home game against the Rangers, per TSN 1200 Ottawa. Chabot was unable to finish Wednesday's game versus Chicago, but his ailment appears to have been a minor one.
Chabot (illness) won't return to Wednesday's game versus the Blackhawks. Chabot's absence probably won't be a long-term one. If he is unable to play Saturday versus the Rangers, Jacob Bernard-Docker could check back into the lineup.
