Mittelstadt scored a power-play goal on two shots in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Penguins. Mittelstadt gave the Avalanche a 2-1 lead with 4:09 left in the third period, and his goal stood as the game-winner.
With the game tied 1-1, the Avalanche got their only power play of the night late in the third period. They nearly came up empty before MacKinnon passed it to Valeri Nichushkin below the goal line.
