For the first time, the All-Star Game (7 p.m. Sunday, TNT) will feature a four-team tournament. Three teams will consist of players selected as All-Stars, while the fourth team will be the winner of the Rising Stars' own mini-tournament.

Per the NBA: “The four teams participating in the NBA All-Star Game will compete for a prize pool of $1.8 million. Each player on the championship-winning team will receive $125,000, each player on the second-place team will receive $50,000 and each player on the third- and fourth-place teams will receive $25,000.” There you have it. The NBA definitely is at a crossroads with its All-Star weekend, and while the league has plans to make the product more entertaining like it once was, perhaps they could take a page out of the NHL's book and create an exciting event.
