Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has signed a two-year, $60 billion operating budget that flattens the state’s income tax and sets aside $600 million in unclaimed funds for a new Cleveland Browns stadium.

Ohio has a $4.8 billion unclaimed property fund, which includes various sums of money owed to state residents. Among those with unclaimed assets is former Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. There exists a 10-year time limit on those funds before the money is transferred back to the state.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine did his part Monday to clear a path for a new domed stadium to be built for the Cleveland Browns in suburban Brook Park by budgeting $600 million from the state’s unclaimed property fund to cover a fourth of the cost.
