The Detroit Lions have proposed a significant change to NFL playoff seeding that would largely use regular-season records as the guiding principle, rather than division championships, according to a list of potential rule changes the league released Wednesday.

Under the Lions' proposal, wild-card teams could have first-round home playoff games instead of division champs.

Goff isn't the first Lion to be featured in a Netflix sports series. Lions wide receiver Amon Ra-St. Brown appeared in the summer 2024 Netflix series "Receiver" and was featured alongside Justin Jefferson, George Kittle, Davante Adams and Deebo Samuel.

Officially, the Lions traded Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for quarterback Jared Goff, first-round picks in 2022 and 2023 and a third-round pick in 2021. Those picks would become vessels for the Lions to add premier talent to what has become one of the best rosters in the league, and Goff has revitalized his career.

Cincinnati's Joe Burrow, Atlanta's Kirk Cousins and Detroit's Jared Goff will be featured on the second season of Netflix's "Quarterback" series.
