The Jimmy Butler-Heat saga got more interesting. Timberwolves forward Julius Randle is on Miami’s radar and has been since the offseason, SNY’s Ian Begley reported Tuesday. The Knicks parted ways with Randle before the season started in a trade that brought Karl Anthony-Towns to New York.

The Miami Heat are having trouble finding a trade partner for Jimmy Butler. The veteran All-Star's $48.7 million salary is a significant stumbling block under the new collective bargaining agreement.

"Keep an eye on Minnesota in a Butler deal," Begley reported Tuesday. "In the offseason, the Heat were one of the teams that expressed interest in trading for Julius Randle, per SNY sources. Randle has remained on the Heat's radar during the Butler saga, sources say."
