Explosions of charged particles from the Sun, known as Coronal Mass Ejections (CME), are being observed in more detail by a NASA mission helping scientists better predict space weather events.

Some in the U.S. could have another chance to see the northern lights this weekend thanks to a coronal hole and accompanying solar winds that may impact Earth.
