Sudan's army said its anti-aircraft systems intercepted drones on Wednesday targeting a naval base in the wartime capital Port Sudan. Explosions were heard in the city, though it was not immediately clear whether they were near the Flamingo base.

Sudanese military officials say paramilitary fighters unleashed drones on the Red Sea city of Port Sudan, hitting key targets there, including the airport, the port and a hotel.

The Sudanese army said on Friday it had confronted drone attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the interim capital, Port Sudan, for the sixth consecutive day. Military anti-aircraft units fired intensively to repel drones flying over central Port Sudan,
