California drivers are bracing for a double-whammy at the pumps as stricter clean air regulations and an increase in the state’s gas excise tax are set to take effect on July 1, which could send fuel prices soaring.
State gas prices slightly declined for the second consecutive week and reached an average of $2.94 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday, down from last week's price of $2.95 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
