Renowned international animation distributor Gkids has struck a new deal with HBO Max that will expand upon their partnership, with HBO Max continuing to serve as the U.S. streaming destination for Gkids’ award-winning Japanese, mostly animated features.

GKids, the distributor of incredible animated titles from around the world, and HBO Max, are extending their partnership.

HBO Max (yes, it's back to the original name) seems to have recognized the growing market of anime, at least on its own “prestige” terms. The service has long been home to the Studio Ghibli movies and is now expanding its library through a new deal with film distributor GKIDS.
