The Las Vegas Raiders are hiring Norv Turner as an assistant, NFL Network reported Tuesday.He is joining the Raiders as his son, Scott, reportedly is in the mix to be calling the offensive plays when the team returns from its bye week.

The Raiders are shaking up their staff by bringing back a face from the past. Norv Turner, who coached the team for two seasons when they were in Oakland, will return to the Raiders as an assistant, NFL Network reported Tuesday.

The Raiders went in an unlikely direction after firing OC Luke Getsy, bringing veteran coach Norv Turner out of retirement as an offensive assistant.
