An Oregon restaurant and chef won awards for outstanding bakery and best chef in the Northwest and Pacific June 16 at the 2025 James Beard Foundation Awards ceremony in Chicago.

Timothy Wastell, a former Portland chef who now serves “ a very nice lunch ” at the Amity winery Antica Terra, took home the Best Chef: Northwest and Pacific award at the 2025 James Beard Foundation’s annual ceremony Monday in Chicago.

JinJu was one of two Oregon-based finalists to win James Beard Awards at Monday’s ceremony in Chicago, joined by Antica Terra ’s Timothy Wastell for the Best Chef: Northwest and Pacific category. A total of six Oregon nominees made it to the finals, including four from Portland.
