Since the inaugural event two years ago, the Cup and Xfinity series have been affected by inclement weather. After both series’ races were shortened by thunderstorms in 2023, the Cup Series ended 17 laps short of the full distance last year because of rain delays.

The Xfinity Series has raced around the street track in Windy City since 2023, with Cole Custer and Shane van Gisbergen having won the race in previous seasons. Both of those drivers are now in the Cup Series, however, meaning a new star has the opportunity to etch their name onto the Chicago winners list this weekend.

The NASCAR Chicago Street Race weekend is right around the corner, and there is yet again another chance of weather making things tricky. Each of the first two years of this race has had its fair share of rain.
