A winter storm is expected to reach Massachusetts Sunday afternoon and dump up to 8 inches of snow in most of the state, according to the National Weather Service.

A winter storm warning has been issued in Massachusetts ahead of a significant winter storm expected to make for a messy Sunday night before some of the coldest air of the season moves in.

Mensch said if the storm hits Massachusetts, it could bring some snow showers throughout the day on Saturday. If the winter storm hits Massachusetts this weekend, it could bring up to three inches of snow, according to Caitlyn Mensch, a NWS meteorologist. "A lot of the times of storms like these can vary," Mensch said.
