The New York Yankees focused on adding depth to their lineup and bullpen at the MLB trade deadline, rather than make a splashy deal. But the deeper roster that the team tried to build is being eroded by injuries.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Judge is "moving in a pretty good direction" with his throwing program as he continues to recover from a right elbow flexor strain, and the skipper is "optimistic" that the 33-year-old will resume playing the outfield soon,

Judge suffered a right flexor strain last month, an arm injury that forced him to sit out on the injured list for nearly two weeks. Since his return, on August 5 in Texas, Judge has been limited to starting at designated hitter. He’ll continue to stick in a DH-only role until he’s cleared to play defense again.
