The Dragon Bravo Fire is now the largest wildfire ever recorded in the Grand Canyon, burning more than 130,000 acres. The fire continues to grow to the north, but at the South Rim, crews are about 11 miles from the flames.

The Dragon Bravo Fire on the Grand Canyon's North Rim was 29% contained as of Aug. 7, having burned over 132,000 acres since July 4. Dry conditions and strong winds were challenging firefighting efforts, with a contingency line holding on the north side.
