Atlanta Dream star Brittney Griner denied making a derogatory remark about Caitlin Clark in her team's 81-76 loss to the Indiana Fever on May 22.

As Griner and the Atlanta Dream faced off against Caitlin Clark and Indiana Fever on May 23— with the Dream coming out as the victor— Griner was visibly upset after being fouled for a sixth time. When she returned to the bench, cameras caught her saying something that many interpreted as “f**king trash” or “f**king white girl.”
