Four-year-old Kai Foreman has been found safe, and the man police say is responsible for kidnapping him and killing the boy’s mother has been taken into custody.

A woman was shot to death in Norfolk on Monday morning and an Amber Alert was issued for a missing child connected to the case. Police responded to the 900 block of East Liberty Street following a report of a shooting about 11:35 a.m. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

An Amber Alert was issued June 16 for a 4-year-old boy who police say is missing after a shooting in Norfolk, Virginia.
