Firefighters used thousands of feet of hose line to combat the flames and prevent further damage in the densely packed neighborhood.

Five multi-family homes were damaged in a massive fire in Lawrence Tuesday night. The fire began on Lowell Street early Tuesday evening. Lawrence Fire Chief Brian Moriarity said in a press conference that two of the homes damaged in the blaze are expected to be a complete loss.

Crews battled a large 5-alarm fire in Lawrence, Massachusetts, which spread to and engulfed several homes and one business late Tuesday afternoon.
