GAYLORD, MI – Northern Michigan got hit with a major ice storm this past weekend, leaving ice-covered trees and power lines throughout. Thousands are still without power as crews continuously work to fix the damage through the grueling weather.

The line of severe thunderstorms that rolled through West Michigan Sunday is responsible for producing the most tornadoes in a single day in decades.

While rain has been persistent on Wednesday in Southeast Michigan, storms are still possible tonight as a warm front rapidly lifts to the north.

The National Weather Service confirmed that EF-1 and EF-0 tornadoes touched down in Michigan from Sunday's storm.

Five tornados have now been confirmed in Michigan as part of Sunday’s severe weather, with EF-1 tornados occurring in Williamston (Ingham County) and Edwardsburg (Cass County) and EF-0 tornados occurring in Cutlerville (Kent County) and Leslie (Ingham County).

Severe weather is expected to impact Michigan on Wednesday, bringing the threat of damaging winds, flooding, and isolated tornadoes to different areas of the state.
