SEPTA’s Regional Rail service was experiencing substantial delays Tuesday evening because of a power outage, but service was slowly getting back to normal, an agency spokesperson said. “We had a power outage at about 5 p.m. that impacted service out of Jefferson and Suburban stations,” SEPTA spokesperson Andrew Busch said in an email.

All SEPTA Regional Rail lines in the Philadelphia area are experiencing delays of up to 50 minutes because of mechanical issues near Gray 30th Street Station, officials say.

Around 5 p.m. Tuesday, overhead power equipment on a train near 30th Street Station got tangled with the wires and knocked out power to the sections of track connecting 30th Street, Suburban and Jefferson stations.
