It has been a while since the last time Edmonton Oilers defenseman Mattias Ekholm saw action on the ice. The veteran blue liner continues to be sidelined because of an undisclosed health issue, as he has not played a game yet in the 2025 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs.

Connor McDavid isn't known for having much of a personality, but during the playoffs, it appears he's got plenty of banter with an Oilers equipment manager.

Early on, it looked like the Golden Knights were going to be run out of Rogers Place. The Oilers rode the energy off the home crowd to build a nice lead. Corey Perry, placed on a line with captain Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, opened the scoring several minutes into the first.

McDavid’s wife, Lauren Kyle, was in attendance at Rogers Place, cheering on her husband. At one point, she took to social media to show off her Game 4 outfit.

The Edmonton Oilers took a 3-1 series lead over the Vegas Golden Knights, placing themselves just one win away from making the Western Conference Final. Edmonton has its sights on getting back to the Stanley Cup Final after losing in Game 7 last season.

Rallies have been the norm for the Oilers in these playoffs. They set the Stanley Cup Playoffs record with five come-from-behind wins in one postseason, and the second round just started. While jumping out in front might be more beneficial, Edmonton has shown that even when they’re down, they’re not out.
