A wildfire burning in New Jersey's Wharton State Forest, named the Mines Spung Wildfire, burned 6,400 acres as of June 18.

The 6,000-acre blaze, which began the morning of June 13 in Wharton State Forest and has been referred to as the Mines Sprung Wildfire, was 90% contained at noon June 16. Firefighters were patrolling the perimeter of the burn area, the agency said.

The Mines Spung Wildfire has prompted evacuations and road closures in Burlington County since Friday, with crews still battling hot spots throughout the forest.
